This is one of those wines it is such a joy to discover, a wine that tastes way above its price point. Rich, full bodied but with zesty acidity.

2 x Muscadet Serve et Maine Moulins Gadais – Loire
Christophe Gadais makes his muscadet in a soft style a million miles away from the tooth enamel stripping muscadets of yesteryear. Yet it still retains the tradional saline quality of the grape which makes muscadet so perfect with shellfish.

2 x Provence Rose Domaine de la Vieille Tour – Provence
This is a perfect pale pink wine that is very drinkable. Delicate with lovely sweet fruit from varietal Grenache grapes, the nose is perfumed with pretty ripe berry characters. On the palate it is soft, pleasantly fruity, fresh, juicy and savoury. Clean and well balanced with some depth, it is so exquisite and proves why Provence rose is just so enjoyable!

2 x Chevalier de Rhodes Gaillac Rouge – South
In the Wine Merchant magazine top 100 wines of 2023. Concentrated but refreshingly bright red plummy fruit, with notes of blackcurrant, minerals, and a charming herbal streak. A spicy finish with bags of character, good price, real wine. Soft but wild bramble fruit with a touch of herbiness on the nose and a grippy but approachable palate. Just on the right side of funky, nicely balanced and very digestible.

2 x Cotes du Rhone Domaine Lafond Roc Epine – Rhone
Made from organically grown grapes this is supple with ripe spicy fruit. A friendly style of Cotes du Rhone which is drinking very well now.

2 x Chateau La Garenne Rouge – Bordeaux
Dark berry fruit and earthy, tobacco aromas mingle with a subtle minty, herbal element. Bright, juicy and fruity, the structure doesn’t overwhelm as all too often it can in Bordeaux.
