Description
In Burgundy the grower is more important than where the grapes are grown. With prices going through the stratosphere, the trick is find great growers who are making wine from some of the lesser known appellations. Franck Lamargue and the village of Monthelie illustrate this perfectly. If it had Gevrey-Chambertin on the label this wine would be three times the price. This is classic perfumed, delicate yet structured pinot noir that is drinking perfectly now.
