Description

2 x Jules Feraud Champagne Brut - France
An extremely appealing nose of caramel and buttered toast, grilled nuts and pistachio shells. This is a flavoursome champagne with a nuts and crumble palate, fresh acidity and a long length.

2 x Macon-Lugny Eugene Blanc Cave de Lugny - France
Made from vines grown near the village of Lugny this performs way above its price range. Full bodied with ripe melony fruit it is the perfect wine with shellfish.

2 x Pouilly Fume Mademoiselle De T Tracy - France
Pale yellow with bright silvery/green highlights. The nose is intense, opening up on notes of boxwood, citrus fruit and mango. A short time in the glass opens up the typical Sauvignon aromas of yellow fruit (apricot and nectarine) and flowers (broom and lily of the valley), underpinned by spicy notes of green peppers and vanilla. In addition to the aromas of the bouquet the first taste sensation is of ripe fruit with a pleasant, refreshing structure. It then returns to more floral notes, ending with grapefruit zest and sweet spices. The palate has great aromatic length, carried by a lovely texture.

2 x Chateau de Parenchere Bordeaux - France
With its equal proportions of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, Château de Parenchère Bordeaux Supérieur Red is half-way between a Médoc and a Saint-Emilion. Merlot gives it its supple, fruity fleshiness; Cabernet-Sauvignon provides structure and additional tannic density. This traditional Parenchère blend is generally very fleshy, with a very deeply coloured robe. Characterized by a good balance between fruit and tannin, it displays distinct red fruit aromas with a long, sustained finish.

2 x Rioja Reserva Vina Marro - Spain
Some Rioja reservas are dominated by the oak in which they have been aged. But Vina Marro ensure that the fruit levels in their wines match the oak so everything is in balance. One of the great Rioja's at a very good price.

2 x Bethany Grenache Barossa Valley - Australia
Championed as one of the best vintages in the past decade, the 2012 Bethany Grenache is a wine of great richness, texture and complexity. Hand picked from old bush vines grown along the foothills of the Barossa Ranges. The nose displays aromas of fresh plums, blueberry and cherry notes. The palate is medium weight tasting of ripe cherries and raspberries balanced with hints of spice and a smooth tannin finish.
